Winning the Bill Sharp Award is my constant reminder that fear is a liar. I remember feeling so nervous before submitting my application that I almost didn’t apply. I had come up with a million and one reasons why I wouldn’t be selected, but here I am.

By day, I work on the client side, ensuring our newly integrated companies are supported from a marketing perspective. Outside of work, I’m the Executive Director of Shatter The Ceiling, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to women of color doing unpaid + underpaid summer internships. In the diversity space, there is a lot of intention around equal opportunities, but at Shatter The Ceiling, we focus on equity. Past grant recipients have used our funds to intern at companies including Macy’s, R/GA, The United Nations, and The Public Health Institute of Oakland.
